1. Center line butterfly valves and eccentric butterfly valves
Center line butterfly valve and eccentric butterfly valve have advantages and disadvantages accordingly. Selection should be combined with its cost-effective comprehensive consideration. Generally speaking, the center line butterfly valve is cheaper than the eccentric butterfly valve. The medium line butterfly valve used in the small caliber butterfly valve is very large with good effects. Its closing seal is essentially a rubber lining extrusion seal, especially near the valve shaft by squeezing larger, so that the service life of the valve is affected. The opening and closing torque of the valve is larger. In order to reduce the shortcomings of the eccentric butterfly valve, the theoretical sealing state is a kind of contact sealing state. Many manufacturers have carried out research and development in this respect. The eccentric butterfly valve is directional on the bearing water pressure. Especially, the reverse pressure ability of the three-dimensional eccentric butterfly valve is weak. Because the pipe network is annular, and the requirements of the valve under pressure in both directions are the same, the valve selection should emphasize this requirement.
2. Vertical butterfly valves and horizontal butterfly valves
In the medium and large butterfly valves, the valve shaft is different from the vertical and horizontal butterfly valves. Usually, the vertical butterfly valve is covered with deep soil. The debris in the water is easy to wind the shaft end, affecting the opening and closing. The variable speed transmission box of horizontal butterfly valves is on the side. The valve well on the road occupies a wider plane position, affecting the arrangement of other pipelines. Therefore, the valve selection process must be clear in view of the above problems. Many medium caliber butterfly valves are vertical ones. This will not only greatly improve the flow conditions of the valve, but also completely solve the problem of debris winding the valve shaft in water.
3. Soft seal butterfly valves and metal seal butterfly valves
Most of the butterfly valves used in the water supply industry are soft seal ones. Because of some problems in the use of this sealing method, many manufacturers introduce metal seal butterfly valves instead of rubber ring seal butterfly valves. We still need to consider the cost performance of the soft seal and metal seal butterfly valves.
①The main problems in the use of soft seal butterfly valves are as follows. The rubber quality is poor. It is easy to age. It has long-term compression deformation and extrusion cracking. Therefore, now some manufacturers generally choose EPDM and butadiene rubber and a small amount of natural rubber. It is strictly prohibited to mix with recycled rubber, in order to improve the wear resistance and aging resistance of the sealing ring.
②The eccentric structure is generally used on the metal seal butterfly valve due to the small elasticity of the seal. Especially, the three-dimensional eccentric structure is ideal. Metal sealed butterfly valve was originally used for the high-pressure steam pipe. The price is more expensive. It is not easy to damage the sealing surface in operation, but its manufacturing accuracy requirements are higher. It is difficult to repair once there is leakage.
