The Common Failures and Maintenances of Selector Valve

Problems of selector valve:  the valve can not reverse or reverse slowly, gas leakage, failures of solenoid pilot operated valves and so on.

1. The selector valve can not reverse or reverse slowly. This failure is generally because of the bad lubrication, stuck or damaged spring; the sliding part is stuck by oil or impurities and so on. Therefore, you need to see if the oil sprayer is working normally and the viscosity of the lubricating oil is suitable. If necessary, you can change the lubricating oil, clean the sliding part, or buy a new spring and selector valve instead.

2. It is easy to have these following problems after the selector valve is used for a long time: the sealing ring of valve core is worn or the stem and seat are damaged. And all these will lead to the gas leakage and make the selector valve operates slowly or can't normal reverse, etc. At this point, you need to change the sealing ring, stem, seat or the valve itself.

3. If the air inlet and exhaust hole of a solenoid pilot operated valve are stuck by fatlute and other impurities, the move iron core is jammed or the electric circuit had problems, the selector valve will not reverse normally. For the first two situations, you need to clean the fatlute and impurities. Things are quite different for circuit problems. Generally, electric circuit failures can be divided into two groups: control circuit failures and solenoid coil failures. Before checking the circuit problems, you should rotate the manual knob for a few times to see if the selector valve can reverse normally in rated pressure situation. If it can, then there must be problems with electric circuit. You can use some instruments to measure the voltage of electromagnetic coil to see whether it has reached the rated voltage during the checking process. If the voltage is too low, you need to further check the power resource and the relevant travel switch circuit. If the selector valve can not reverse in rated voltage, then you should check the plug of electromagnetic coil to see whether it has been loose. And the detailed method is removing the plug and measuring the resistance valve of coil. If the valve is too big or too small, then it is time for you to buy a new electromagnetic coil.
