Special ball gate globe valve for coal chemical industry - part one

Except that some general-purpose valves can be used in some coal chemical industry conditions,  which valves are special valves for coal chemical industry?

Special ball gate globe valve for coal chemical industry

In order to meet the needs of China's energy structure adjustment, the research and development of large-scale coal chemical equipment is included in one of the 16 major technical and equipment tasks vigorously developed by the country. The localization of large-scale coal chemical equipment is also the focus of future work.

The rapid development of large-scale coal chemical industry requires the support of corresponding technical equipment, especially coal-to-liquid, methanol, synthetic ammonia, and coal-to-olefin coal and other chemical industries require a large number of large-scale coal chemical equipment. The localization of related technical equipment is an important measure to reduce engineering investment, save foreign exchange, and improve industrial competitiveness. The major research projects for the development of large-scale coal chemical equipment include: extra-large hydrogenation reactors, centrifugal pumps and volumetric pumps for coal liquefaction, special valves for coal liquefaction, oil-coal slurry heating furnaces, large coal slurry homogenizers, large thrust reciprocating compressors and large centrifugal compressors, special waste heat boilers, large equipment for coal preparation, core equipment for oil residue gasification, large hydrogen producer for natural gas, etc.

Ball valve for coal chemical industry
A ball valve has an action of rotating 90 degrees, the plug body is a sphere, and has a circular through hole or passage through its axis. The ball valve is mainly used to cut, distribute and change the flow direction of the medium in the pipeline. It only needs a 90-degree rotation and a small turning torque to close tightly. The ball valve is most suitable as on-off and shut-off valve, but recent developments have designed the ball valve for throttling and flow control purposes.

Gate valve for coal chemical industry
The gate of the gate valve moves linearly with the valve stem, which is called a rising stem gate valve, also called a lifting rod gate valve. There is usually a trapezoidal thread on the lifting rod. The rotational motion is transformed into a linear motion through the nut at the top of the valve and the guide groove on the valve body, that is, the operating torque into the operating thrust. When the valve is open and the lifting height of the gate is equal to the valve diameter, the fluid channel is completely unblocked. During operation, however,  this position cannot be monitored. In actual use, the apex of the valve stem is used as a mark, that is, the position where it cannot be moved, as its fully open position.

Butterfly valve for coal chemical industry
The opening and closing part of a butterfly valve is a disc-shaped butterfly plate, which rotates around its own axis in the valve body, so that the valve is opened, closed or adjusted. When the butterfly valve is fully open to fully closed, it usually rotates by less than 90 degrees.  The butterfly valve and the butterfly rod itself have no self-locking ability. For the positioning of the butterfly plate, a worm gear reducer must be installed on the valve rod. The use of worm gear reducer can not only make the butterfly plate self-locking, stop the butterfly plate at any position, but also improve the valve performance.

Globe valve for coal chemical industry
The opening and closing part of the globe valve is a plug-shaped flap, the sealing surface is flat or conical, and the flap moves linearly along the center line of the fluid. The movement form of the valve stem includes lifting rod type (the valve rod is raised and lowered, while the handwheel is not raised and lowered), and lifting and rotating rod type (the handwheel and the valve rod rotate and lift together, and the nut is provided on the valve body). The globe valve is only used at fully open or fully closed position, and it is not allowed to adjust and throttle the flow. The globe valve is a mandatory sealed valve, so when the valve is closed, pressure must be applied to the valve flap, in order to force the sealing surface to not leak.
